Dr. Aparna Dubey, Assistant Professor of Botany at the Government Science College Jabalpur is an epitome of true woman power. The great lady has beaten the hurdles and made way through struggles, by her strong will, efficiently and skills. She is a well known personality in the field of education, and has also been providing guidance and opportunity to many of her students.

Dr. Aparna Awasthi has been honoured with the prestigious’Most Ambitious Women Scientist Award’ in the year 2017. She has published more than 50 valuable research papers in international journals and national levels as well.

Dr. Aparna is a published author.

Her book ‘Credibility of Folk claims of Manipur Nagaland and North East India,’ an excellent contribution from her, designed to envisage ethnomedicinal heritage of North East hill region of India, with emphasis on tribal wealth.

The book reflects various aspects of ethno forestry, ethnotaxonomy, ethnoecology and ethno medicine. It provides a glimpse of traditional knowledge being practiced in the field of medicine and other spheres of day to day life.

The uses of plants by different tribes of this region are the real custodians of natural wealth and experts in herbal medicine.

Dr. Aparna has bridged education with social service through her thoughtfulness and has been educating students all over India about corona virus precautions and how to live positively in this phase . She has been associated with an informative online quiz by the Government Science College, and her efforts were remarkable in making the program so successful. She organised a national level poster competition on the same subject to spread awareness and to keep the students engaged in positive efforts during Lockdown phase.
